Let Us Introduce Ourselves

Army veteran Dan Hensel began his automotive career while serving. After his time in the Army, Dan attended Alfred State College and worked in various repair shops in the Northeast before settling down in Western New York. His goal of owning his own business came to life in 2006 when he bought out Amton Transmission, a small one-bay shop down the street. Originally located on the border of Amherst and Tonawanda, the name Amton was a hybrid of the two cities. Dan kept Amton but shifted gears and renamed the business to Amton Auto and Truck. In 2009, we moved to our current location at 4186 Delaware Ave, Tonawanda, NY 14150, a larger, five-bay auto repair shop. Racheal Barraclough joined the team in 2010 and is an ASE-Certified advisor and manages the day-to-day operations. Our team is second-to-none, and we encourage you to stop in and say hi. We love meeting our neighbors! Did we mention we have a leg lamp? It’s a major award.

It’s About Community

Dan’s commitment to serving goes beyond his years in the Army. Amton Auto and Truck prides itself on giving back to our community in several ways. We are active partners with the Western New York (WNY) Heroes organization, a local charity dedicated to helping local veterans and active-duty military (and their families) with anything from school supplies and Christmas gifts to paying mortgages. Our team is proud to help WNY Heroes donate cars to veterans in need in addition to other support. We’ve also supported school fundraisers and the SPCA serving Erie County, and more. Additionally, we are working to make our world a better place by moving towards a paperless system. We purchase most of our fluids in bulk to reduce plastic waste and have upgraded our shop lighting to LED lighting to lower energy use. Lastly, we’re here to support our fellow Buffalo Bills fans. Whether you need someone to celebrate with or a shoulder to cry on, we’re here for you. One must wear many hats when it comes to community.
